This is our crazy life

This picture that we recently took of our "family" describes our crazy life. It cracks me up every time I look at it. I suppose our concept, "the more, the merrier" could some day get out of control (well, I think that is Jeff's concept and I am just along for the ride and to moderate). When Jeff started talking about wanting to have a litter of puppies about a year ago, I was very hesitant and didn't want anything to do with it. Now, it's just like whatever you want to do, as long as we can afford it! Puppies are cute and I will have a blast taking pictures and taking care of them. I told him that if we are going to have 3 dogs and 2 or 3 kids, we better have a maid or a nanny or something!! I need help!!

Before we were married, I guess I didn't realize all of the responsibilities of owning a home and being a "housewife". It seems as though we work on things around the house endlessly and things are never in order or ever get finished! How do you have time after working, trying to stay on an exercise schedule, doing laundry, ironing clothes, putting the clothes away, cleaning, sweeping, making dinner, doing the dishes, making sure the dogs get fed and are happy, and sleeping! There just aren't enough hours in the day.

Recently we starting preparing for the arrival of the puppies by painting and getting more of the house decorated. I guess I didn't even talk about Lilly's trip to Cleveland. On May 7th, I drove Lilly up to Cleveland to have Dr. Hutchison (the top reproduction specialist in the nation) perform a surgical implant on Lilly. It was a crazy day because it took about 4 1/2 hours to get there, the surgery and recovery took about 2 hours, and then it was a 4 1/2 hour drive home. Lilly was totally out of it for the rest of the night and I felt really bad for her. Dr. Hutchison told us to keep a t-shirt on her to keep her from licking at her stitches.

Well, the t-shirt worked for a while, but she soon figured out how to get if off, so we had to resort back to the lamp shade.

Meanwhile, while I am trying to get the house painted and in order, Lilly keeps banging into everything with the stupid lamp shade and now I have about 4 corners to patch up when she gets finished wearing the thing! Needless to say, it's been frustrating for me! Lilly is doing well, she has a lot of energy and her incision is healing well. We find out June 1st if she is pregnant!!

If she is, the puppies will be due July 6th!
