Saying Goodbye

Well, what can I say? Friday was Keely's final day with us and the start of her new life with her forever owners. The top picture are her new owners, Justin and Sarah from St. Louis, MO. The bottom picture is Me, Jeff, Keely and Lilly. We couldn't have asked for better people to take our sweet little girl. They reminded me of Jeff and I, three and a half years ago when we picked up Lilly. Ecstatic and full of questions, wanting to do everything right and provide the best home possible for the new little one. They were so excited to start their adventures with Keely.

As Jeff and I sat back after they left, we were full of mixed emotions; sad that she was leaving and felt a bit of emptiness, but excited for this young couple. We are so thankful that our first breeding went so well: we had a small litter so we could adapt and easily learn day by day, Keely is happy and healthy, Lilly is doing well and is pretty much back in shape, and we found wonderful people to be her owners.

Here are some more pictures of Keely from last week:

Saturday started early at 5:15 am because we were on our way to a retriving test just south of Chicago. Lilly did not pass and is going to spend a few days with a trainer, so maybe we will have better luck next time. After that, we were on our way to the Notre Dame game for another huge disappointment! I don't even want to talk about it!

Saturday and Sunday we spent some time in South Bend with my family and celebrated my Mom's Birthday. Today we went to Jeff's parents house and swam in the pool (well, at least Phoenix swam in the pool!)

I hope everyone had a happy and safe Labor Day! It's now back to work full-time for me!
