Peyton's First Show

We have been busy preparing Peyton for his future show career and overall "obedience". Monday evenings consist of conformation class, Tuesday evenings are puppy kindergarten, and Thursday nights are Jeff's softball games! Needless to say, we don't have much free time in the evenings. I guess this is just preparing us for our child.

This weekend was Peyton's first show. It was a puppy match because he can't actually compete until he is six months of age, but he did well in the ring. We need to work on standing still when a judge walks up to him because he always wants to jump up and lick them in the face! He's a wiggly butt. Peyton received a Group 2 placement losing only to a 9 month old, well trained Golden who could free stack. Poor Peyton is only 4 1/2 months old! The judge did tell Jeff he couldn't believe how well Peyton behaved for such a young dog and told him what a nice weim we had! We will keep working with him and look forward to July when he can actually compete.
